Product Name: GENESAF 18 WP |
Introducing Information:
Genesaf 18 WP is a combined preparation with the two active ingredients known as “Bensulfuron methyl & Acetachlor ”. Introduce by Bensulfuron methyl- E.I. du Pont de Numours & Co. in 1985; Acetochlor is an herbicide developed by Monsanto Company and Zeneca. It is a member of the class of herbicides known as chloroacetanilides.
Active Ingredient
“Bensulfuron methyl + Acetachlor”.
Group
BM-Systemic herbicide (Sulfonylurea); Acetachloe- Chloroacetanilides
Formulation type
WP (Wettable Powder)
Function
Bensulfuron Methyl-Selective pre & post emergence control of annual and perennial weeds and sedges, pre or post emergence in flooded and wet land rice and transplanted rice crops.
Acetachlor-Acetachlor is a selective herbicide that controls a broad spectrum of annual grass, sedge and and broad leaf weeds.
Mode of Action
Bensulfuron Methyl-Selective systemic Herbicide, absorbed by the foliage & roots with rapid translocation to the meristematic tissue.
Acetachlor- Its mode of action is elogase inhibition, and inhibition of gernylgernayl pyrophosphate (GGPP) cyclization enzymes, part of the gibberellin pathway. It carries high risks of environmental contamination.
Biochemistry
Bensulfuron Methyl- Branched chain amino acid synthesis (ALS or AHAS) Inhibitor. Acts by inhibiting biosynthesis of the essential amino acids valine & isovaline hence stopping cell division and plant growth.
Acetachlor – Acetachlor is in the chloroacetanilide herbicide family which act as long chain fatty acid inhibitors.
