Introducing Information:

Genephos 48 EC is a Non systemic insecticide with contact stomach and respiratory action. It belongs to the organophosphate family of insecticides. Chlorpyrifos is a broad-spectrum, chlorinated organophosphate (OP) insecticide, acaricide and nematicide. Chlorpyrifos was first registered for use in the United States in 1965.

It is massively used in Rice, Potato, Tea, Cotton and Sugarcane. It is widely used against Rice Stem borer, Hispa, BPH, Cutwarm, termite.

How to work

Genephos 48 EC acts as chlolinesterase inhibitor. These chemicals act by interfering with the activities of cholinesterase, an enzyme that is essential for the proper working of the nervous systems of insects.

Antidotes

1. Administer 1 PAM, 1-2 mg diluted in 10 cc od distilled water and inject intravenously, very slowly taking 10 to 15 minutes. It should be given in conjunction with atropine and not alone.

2. To relive upper respiratory obstruction, give oxygen and artificial respiration if necessary
